BURN IT ALL DOWN #3
2018
About the series:
I’ve always had a love for the places I’m told I should not go, for the things I’m warned are dangerous to the touch – and my proclivity for “running into fires wherever I may find them” if, one might say, just one of those things. Burn It All Down is a series (originally consisting of four individual installments) of work dear to my heart for precisely these reasons. Each piece in the series plays with a micro-focused photograph of fire, with an eye to both its containment as well as the element’s innate potential to burst through any attempt to limit its potential. In each iteration of the series, a limited edition photographic print is encased in thick, 1-inch-wide, box-like structure of layered acrylic, and set off against a backing of fragile, reflective, hammered copper sheeting.
