About the series:
Vertical Horizons is an invitation to shift perspective and consider the world from a. new, and often destabilizing, angle. This series juxtaposes photography with collage to immerse viewers in a world viewed upside down, in reverse, and on a diagonal -- asking what we can learn from forcibly shaking up conventional ideas and points of view. Out of the banal, singular image, Vertical Horizons transforms the everyday into fresh depictions of an alternate reality -- from barbed wire reconfigured into a seemingly infinite pattern of spirals to iron fences posts that offer, instead of a barrier, a ladder leading into the sky.
